Job Title: Payroll Tax Specialist

Location: East Valley (Onsite)
Compensation: $26-$30/hour


Position Overview

This Payroll Tax Specialist role supports a high-volume, multi-state payroll tax function. The position is hands-on and requires full ownership of payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions.

This role is best suited for someone who is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working independently.


Core Responsibilities

* Prepare and submit federal, state, and local payroll tax filings and deposits
* Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reconciliations
* Review payroll data to ensure proper tax reporting and compliance
* Manage W-2 processing and corrections (W-2c)
* Investigate and resolve payroll tax notices and discrepancies
* Support audits and regulatory reporting
* Maintain accurate tax records and employer accounts
* Partner with payroll and accounting teams to resolve issues


Required Qualifications

* 2+ years of hands-on multi-state payroll tax experience
* Experience preparing and filing payroll tax returns
* Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance and regulations
* Experience with payroll reconciliations
* Strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis
* Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
* High attention to detail and accuracy


Preferred Background

* Experience in high-volume payroll environments
* Exposure to multiple entities or jurisdictions
* Experience resolving payroll tax notices or audits
